At Library Plaza Dental Center, we will make every effort possible to preserve your natural teeth, but sometimes the only solution for problematic teeth is an extraction.
Tooth extractions are dental procedures that may have to be performed if you have teeth that are infected by severe decay. The severity of damage to your teeth is what determines whether or not you have to have an extraction. The following are general causes for an extraction to have to take place
- Advanced periodontal disease
- Deformed teeth
- Cracked teeth
- Damaged teeth
Although it is performed right here in our Des Plaines office, this procedure is considered to be an oral surgery that uses a local anesthetic. Depending on which teeth are removed, they may be replaced with an implant or other prosthetics. We do offer emergency dentistry and some weekend hours so if you are experiencing extreme pain and suspect you need an extraction, call us.
